Arizona Insurance Suspensions Increase

Element has seen an increase in renewal rejections. The AZ DMV has started requiring and enforcing insurance companies to update the AZ DMV insurance system (MAX) with a list of vehicles they insure.

What's New

The state will not accept insurance cards at the time of the renewal. If the vin is not found in the AZ insurance system, they will not process the renewal.

To ensure you do not experience any disruption in the registration renewal process, please ensure your insurance provider has updated vehicle insurance information directly with the AZ DMV insurance system (MAX).

Insurance companies are required to update insurance in the AZ DMV insurance system (MAX). The AZ DMV will automatically check for vehicle insurance information registered in their portal. If the insurance information has not been provided by the carrier by VIN number, the registration renewal will not be processed.

Call to Action

Confirm with your insurance carrier has submitted insurance policies coverage by VIN number through the portal and has no lapse in coverage.

Avoid a lapse in insurance coverage: Prior to canceling an old policy, ensure the newly purchased insurance effective date of the policy matches the cancellation date of the old policy.

Insurance can be updated with the AZ DMV insurance system (MAX) through the carrier insurance portal.

Failure by the insurance broker to update applicable insurance can result in registration and plate suspension as well as potential fees to reinstate.
