Have you noticed more and more roundabouts on the roads? They are being used more by planners, because they are statistically safer:

- They reduce fatal crashes by 90%
- They reduce injury crashes by 75%
- They reduce pedestrian/vehicle crashes by 30 – 40%
Use these suggested guidelines for driving through a roundabout:
- Slow down as you approach and choose your lane
- When you see a gap in traffic, enter the circle
- Yield to traffic already circulating – those in the roundabout have the right of way
- Stay in your lane and use your right-turn signal to indicate your intention to exit
- Assume trucks need all the available space — don't try to pass them
- If an emergency vehicle enters the roundabout, safely pull the right and let it pass
- Watch for pedestrians and cyclists
As always, be safe!
